Audio Designer – Join the DragonKill Team
DragonKill is an immersive fantasy MMO with retro visuals and a deep, atmospheric world. We’re looking for an Audio Designer to craft sound effects and music that elevate everything from spellcasting to quiet town ambience.
🔊 Role Summary
You’ll create original sound effects and music loops that blend with the game’s pixel-art aesthetic and enhance moment-to-moment gameplay. Whether it’s the crackle of lightning or a soft victory jingle, your audio will bring Gaia to life.
🧪 Responsibilities
- Create and edit original sound effects (combat, UI, ambient, monster sounds, spells, etc.).
- Produce music loops for towns, battle zones, dungeons, and world travel.
- Work with the dev team to integrate audio cues and ensure correct playback behavior in Unity.
- Organize your assets clearly with filenames and categories for future scalability.
- Ensure audio is optimized (loopable, compressed, level-balanced) for game-ready use.
🎯 Expectations
- You have access to basic audio tools (Audacity, FL Studio, Reaper, etc.).
- You can deliver short clips, loops, and FX in .WAV or .OGG formats.
- You enjoy building moods, atmospheres, and giving sound to fantasy actions.
- You collaborate with devs and iterate based on testing and feedback.
🧠 Ideal Experience
- Audio design or music composition experience for games, animation, or mods.
- Interest in fantasy soundscapes and RPG-style sound cues.
- Unity audio implementation knowledge is a plus (but not required).
🏆 What You’ll Gain
- Your music and FX heard in an active online game and community.
- Credited contributions on an ongoing MMO project.
- A real-world portfolio of applied audio design work.
- Reputation and shared success when we succeed.
💬 How to Apply
Email customersupport@dragonkill.online or DM us on Discord with:
- Your name and what you’d like to work on (SFX, music, or both)
- Links to audio samples, SoundCloud, YouTube, or your portfolio
- A few lines about what excites you most about DragonKill and its world
No experience? No problem.
If you’re new to game audio and want a real-world project to grow with, you’re welcome here.
No payment (yet)
This is a volunteer role. But when we succeed — and we will — you’ll share in that success.
